Konjit

Konjit is 12 years old and in Grade 5.  After her mother and father died she lived with her grandmother for 7 years then with her uncle a year and 5 months, then with her older sister (who was 13) for about 10 months before she joined the Joy Center, for her uncle’s wife didn’t want them to live with her. Her aunt was giving her a hard time when she lived with her uncle, she used to fetch water from far away and “do everything” in the house, she felt there was a lot of pressure on her.

Konjit says:  “I am very happy for joining the JoyCenter. I love to play and have fun with the other girls (my sisters). I feel really sorry for people that get sick so I want to be a medical doctor in the future.”
