The Joy Centre currently houses 12 girls and 2 house mothers, Konjit and Yodit, as well as a guard, Ababa, who lives on the premises. A cook, Ami, comes in 6 days per week to prepare meals, assisted by the girls.
Over the next 5 years it is anticipated that two of the girls will undertake vocational or tertiary education in 2 years time and in years 3, 4 and 5 two girls will leave the home to live independently.
These girls will be replaced in the Joy Centre, even while the original girls are being supported until they are fully independent.
The Joy Centre is a long-term, on-going program
